What is Valtrex?

Valtrex is generically known as Valacyclovir. Valacyclovir is an antiviral medication used to slow down the spread of the herpes virus. Valacyclovir does not cure herpes but it can alleviate the problems of the disease. It is prescribed to people with genital herpes, cold sores, chicken pox and shingles.
